Valuing the individual leader while pioneering a new collective approach to leadership
The history of leadership contains vast research regarding various theories and styles that have evolved over the years. However, progress has slowed, with no significant advancement in such theories and styles in the last twenty years.
Leadership Past
With progress slowed researchers continue to seek progress within the field of leadership. This focus remains on the relationship between the leader and their followers. Estimates suggest that tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of books are available on leadership.
Leadership Present
The future must shift its focus away from the individual leader. It must have a foundation in which the perspective looks at the collective group of leaders—a group in need of coordination.
Leadership Future
The objective of The Leadership Synthesis and its work is not to take anything away from the efforts spent developing the field of leadership that is its history today, but rather add to our body of knowledge.
The Leadership Synthesis aims to address our knowledge gaps in leadership literature, specifically in the area of the collective leadership group. We believe it is in our opportunities that we find the potential for further growth.
We prune a tree to promote growth, improve structure, enhance health, and increase yield. When pruning, we do not focus on an individual limb and what grows from that branching out. We focus on the purpose of the overall tree, how the branches relate to one another, expecting each limb move forward through the common strategy of their trunk. Those benefits are the desired results of The Leadership Synthesis for the field of leadership.
The pruning of our approach to leadership with a focus on a leadership strategy and the collective leadership group provides a new pathway forward that removes obstacles, inefficiencies, and outdated practices, creating new growth and opportunities to flourish in both leadership and business.
The work of The Leadership Synthesis is a foundation for future studies and work that focus on a global approach to leadership through the DNA of an organizational leadership strategy.
